Residents and young athletes in the 4S Ranch area have an opportunity to say goodbye to LaDanian Tomlinson one last time this weekend at a special instructional football clinic at Del Norte High School.

The former San Diego Charger (now with the New York Jets) is one of several well-known current and former National Football League players participating in the Submarina California Subs “Powered Up” Football Camp on Saturday, April 24.

Among the other guests on hand will be former Chargers Lorenzo Neal and Junior Seau, and current San Diego running back Darren Sproles – along with many of the best high school coaches in the county, including Del Norte Football Coach Jerry Ralph.

The football skills clinic — managed by SoCal Football Academy — is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with check-in at 7:30 a.m. All participants receive lunch, a water bottle, an event T-shirt, three additional “family tickets” that allow viewing of the camp by parents and siblings, admission to the Submarina Street Fair – other items, such as signed footballs, depending upon registration level.

Three registration packages are available, beginning at $150. Non-participants in the camp can view the activities from the stadium grandstand for $25. Space is limited, and registration costs an additional $50 after April 21. Forms are available online at http://socalfootballacademy.com, or call Submarina at 760-471-3377, ext. 119 for more information.

The clinic is open to boys and girls, first grade through 12th grade. Del Norte High School is located at 16601 Nighthawk Lane.
