Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo hosts the first San Diego Wine Country Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The event will include tastings of cabernet, cabernet franc, chardonnay, merlot, primitive, rose, sangiovese, syrah, viognier and zinfandel.  Tickets are $20 for 10 tastings.

Among the participating wineries are Bernardo Winery, Dube Vineyards, Gloriosa Vinyards, , Woof ‘n Rose Winery, Hacienda de Las Rosas Winery, La Serenissima, Lenora, Old Coach Winery, Orfila Winery, Orrin Vineyards, Rock Canyon, San Pasqual Winery, Sunshine Mountain, Twin Oaks, Vinavanti, and Witch Creek Vinery.

In addition to the wine tastings, attendees can sample artisan breads, crepes, antipasto and cheese platters, and beef and pulled pork sandwiches.  Live music will be provided by Chini and Camberos.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/184893, and are also available at the door.  Bernardo Winery is located at 13330 Paseo del Verano Norte, with courtesy shuttles available at Rancho Bernardo Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and Hilton Garden Inn (all in Rancho Bernardo).
