The Girl Scout cookie season launches on Feb. 2. When selling America’s favorite confection, girls learn important skills – such as goal-setting and business management – while raising money for Girl Scouting. All proceeds stay local to support troop activities, community-wide Girl Scout programs and service projects.
This year, 4S Ranch’s Troop 8906 voted to raise $100 for Adobe Bluffs Elementary’s “Ability Awareness Action Celebration.” During the annual event, students hear from community members who are living with disabilities. The school, which has a high population of special needs children, runs programs year-round focusing on anti-bullying, inclusion and respect.
“Our troop believes it’s important to give back to our community, and this year we are going to help by donating some of our cookie money to help teach kids to be kind to each other,” said
Nailah Hollomon, age nine. She and the other
girls in her troop attend Willow Grove Elementary.
