Stage veteran Dean Ratzman brings his “The Swingin’ with Dean Show” to the Ed Brown Center at Rancho Bernardo on Sunday, Feb. 15, as the popular Sunday Afternoon @ 3:00 series continues. Dean performs nearly 300 gigs per year in North America. He and his former band, The Ravells, opened for The Beach Boys when they played in San Diego from 1986 to 1992, and he took a turn as the trumpet player for San Diego’s iconic oldies band, The Mar Dels. His style of arrangements, audience rapport, and humor provide a highly entertaining performance.

“The Swingin’ with Dean Show” is a smooth compilation of ’40s swing, big band, jazz standards, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s jazz, blues, rock, and soul hits of all the great American artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Young Rascals, Neil Diamond, The Temptations, Santana, and Tommy James, supplemented by a few of his own original compositions. He performs on piano, trumpet, trombone and vocals.

So come listen to some of the best music that was ever written, performed by this versatile and talented musician. Tickets are available at the Ed Brown Center, and are only $10 for adults or $5 for children twelve and under.
