The Madsen Family Blooms in 92127
The Madsen Family moved to 4S Ranch from Kentucky two years ago for Matt to join North County Oral Surgery. Being at such a distance, they had to rely heavily on the opinions of others. “We were astonished at the number of people that told us 4S Ranch was the place to be with a young family,” Michaun explained. “We are so glad we listened to their advice!”
Michaun and her three daughters, Maylee (8), Makelle (6), and Mirabel (5 months), came early to their new home. Michaun called Matt after only three days to tell him he’d better like his new office, because she and the girls had already decided they never wanted to leave. Now Maylee and Makelle are in fourth and first grade at Stone Ranch Elementary. Maylee enjoys activities like volleyball, piano and tap lessons, Girl Scouts, and activity group at church; her sister Maylee enjoys tap and ballet, music classes, and also Girl Scouts. Mirabel is actively working on rolling and sitting up, and she spends most of her day smiling at her adoring sisters.
“Our family has quickly adapted to the California lifestyle and weather,” Michaun smiled. “Matt surfs every Saturday morning, and the girls love the beach.”
An attorney by trade, Michaun maintains her Kentucky license. However her number one job (and favorite position she has ever held) is as CEO of the Madsen family. Matt has offices in both RB and Escondido. He is passionate about what he does and has published 19 papers and co-authored two books in the field of oral and facial surgery. Michaun is room mom for both older girls, serves on the Stone Ranch PTA Board, and is active through her church as a leader in youth programs there, serving as a role model and mentor. Matt is also involved in church as a Sunday School teacher. Fluent in Spanish, he makes a yearly trip to Guatemala to perform cleft lip and palate services for people with no access to medical care.
“Our family has quickly adapted to the California lifestyle and weather,” Michaun smiled. “Matt surfs every Saturday morning, and the girls love the beach.” Since Matt is outnumbered four to one in the Madsen household, he has used his fine motor skills to connect with the girls by perfecting his nail painting skills. “Almost every Sunday,” Michaun laughed, “Matt sits down and paints tiny fingers and toes. He has become remarkably good at drawing hearts, flowers, and the various other requests he gets.”
