The Rancho Bernardo Historical Society’s November Speakers Series Program features Carol Crafts, who is eminently qualified to speak on her subject. Carol is a docent at the Goodan Ranch/Sycamore Canyon Open Space Preserve. The preserve covers parts of Poway, Lakeside, and Santee, including the site of the former village of Stowe. The history of Stowe encompasses the history of both the Poway and Santee areas.

Carol has been a docent at the preserve for over 15 years. She is president of the Friends of Goodan Ranch, president of the Santee Historical Society, and secretary of the Poway Historical and Memorial Society. She is also the author of the book Goodan Ranch and Sycamore Canyon: A History of the Land, Then and Now, copies of which will be available for sale after her talk. The talk will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Rancho Bernardo History Museum in the Bernardo Winery. Learn more at www.rbhistoricalsociety.org.
