Sports, School, and Sunshine

family_rothermel_4Originally drawn to 4S Ranch for the beautiful landscaping, new homes, strong community, and good schools, Chris and Amy Rothermel have loved their home in 92127 for many reasons over the last decade. The couple and their three sons enjoy the convenience of walking to school, baseball games, church, and grocery stores. “We feel very lucky to have our 4S Ranch bubble,” Chris and Amy shared.

Chris and Amy are both business owners, which allows them the flexibility to participate fully in their sons’ lives. Chris owns Aquaguard Pool Fences, building swimming pool fences in San Diego, Riverside, and Orange County. “He loves to be home by the time the boys get home from school to help with homework and driving the kids around to sports activities in the evenings,” Amy said. As the financial director and owner of a drug and alcohol treatment facility, Amy’s schedule also provides her the opportunity to spend time with the boys when they are not in school.

Their three sons, Collin, Gavin, and Dylan, love the active lifestyle of 92127. Collin is an eighth grader at Oak Valley Middle School. He plays travel baseball with RB Warriors and football with Del Norte Nighthawks. Outside of school and sports, Collin can be found hanging out with his friends from school and church. Gavin and Dylan are both students at Stone Ranch Elementary, where Amy volunteers in the boys’ classrooms. “The youngest two love Legos, building forts, climbing trees, and basically doing anything outside,” Amy explained. All the boys are involved with baseball, football, and lacrosse. Chris volunteers his time coaching for the 4S Ranch Little League.

Family time for the Rothermals incorporates their love for travel. “Our favorite destinations are by the water since we love boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and just being near the ocean or lakes,” Amy and Chris said.

The Rothermels house is typically full of friends and neighbors. “Our home is often the neighborhood ‘hub’ and you can expect to find numerous bikes and scooters in our front yard, kids jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool, or digging for bugs in the front yard,” Amy shared. “We love it that way and wouldn’t have it any other way.”
