Close-Knit Crew

family_putt4Spending time together as a family is a top priority for Cheryll, Jordan, and Nyah Putt. “We are a very close-knit family, and we make a point to always laugh and have fun no matter what we are doing,” said Cheryll. She and her children especially enjoy watching Marvel and Star Wars movies together. They also feel fortunate to live in a tight-knit community like 4S Ranch, a community where Cheryll’s parents live and where the schools are known for their great educational opportunities. “We love being so close to my parents, and we have also created a large network of friends that are more like family. Everything is so accessible here in 4S, and it’s easy for children to go from elementary to high school with the same friends because all of the schools are so close in proximity,” said Cheryll, a native San Diegan who attended Mt. Carmel High School before relocating to Northern California for a time.

“We are a very close-knit family, and we make a point to always laugh and have fun no matter what we are doing.”

family_putt3The Putt family moved to 92127 nine years ago after Jordan finished kindergarten so the children could attend schools in the Poway Unified School District. Jordan is now a freshman at Del Norte High School who enjoys playing football and hanging out with his friends. Nyah is a sixth grader at Oak Valley Middle School and is actively involved with musical theater. “Nyah and I are both very creative. She loves arts and crafts, and I enjoy making cards and other paper crafts. In fact, I volunteered for Art Corps at Oak Valley for three years,” revealed Cheryll.

In addition, Cheryll is working on writing a novel. She has already published a children’s book about therapy, a topic near and dear to her heart. She has a master’s degree in counseling and is a licensed therapist. “I have a private practice in Rancho Bernardo where I help children and adults heal from trauma, abuse, and PTSD. I am also a ‘mom coach.’ In this capacity, I empower moms to rise above feeling overwhelmed and their ‘mom guilt’ and help them enhance their parenting skills so they can be the best moms they can be,” explained Cheryll.
