Every year, Girl Scout Troop 2119 visits the firefighters at Station 33 to show their appreciation for the work they do. This year, they decorated cookies and painted a holiday-themed post for the station. “The visit was timely since the following week was when San Diego was hit with extreme wildfires,” shared Carla Reichel, Troop Leader.

Troop 2119 consists of 11 third grade girls, nine attend Westwood Elementary School, and two attend Classical Academy. This is the troop’s third year together, and Carla explained that this year’s focus has been random acts of kindness. “We have spent time at retirement homes, Helen Woodward, the fire station, and Rady Children’s Hospital doing random acts of kindness,” she said. “We plan to help the homeless, make birthday bags for foster kids, and keep cleaning up our school and community.”
