San Diego film aficionados have a lot to look forward to this fall, with two film festivals on the calendar. The 4th Annual GI Film Festival San Diego will take place Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Museum of Photographic Arts and UltraStar Cinemas at Hazard Center. The festival highlights films by, for, and about military members and veterans, including stories from underrepresented minority service members. Attendees can enjoy premiers and screenings of films by local and international filmmakers, as well as panel discussions with filmmakers, actors, and documentary subjects.

The following month, the 17th Annual San Diego International Film Festival (SDIFF) will run October 10 through 14 at Regal Cinema UA Horton Plaza and ArcLight Cinema La Jolla. SDIFF is a whirlwind week of world premieres, new studio releases, independent films, and panel events. Though the festival covers a wide range of stories and perspectives, unique film tracks provide special focus on key themes: American Indian, Environmental, Equestrian, Military, Social Impact, and Women in Film.
