PowPAC, Poway’s Community Theatre, continues its 2018-2019 season with a real thriller: Deathtrap, opened Friday, Aug. 31 and closes Sunday, Sept. 30. The play – written by Ira Levin, author of Rosemary’s Baby and The Stepford Wives – holds the record for the longest-running comedy thriller on Broadway and was adapted into film in 1982. The plot centers around successful playwright Sidney Bruhl and a collaboration with a student playwright that leads to unexpected twists and turns.

PowPAC’s Deathtrap is directed by Brent A. Stringfield and produced by Lynn Wolsey. The cast includes Steve Murdock as Sidney Bruhl; Connie Chiarelli as his wife, Myra; Jamie Penry as young playwright Clifford Anderson; Dianne Gray as psychic Helga Ten Dorp; and David Dartt as attorney Porter Milgrim.
