Sharing the Holiday Spirit

The Rancho Bernardo Community Council’s (RBCC) annual Snow Day in the Park and Hot Cocoa With Santa was once again a success. Participants enjoyed a day of wintery fun while giving back to the community.
The RBCC provided 20 gallons of hot cocoa and 500 cookies to fuel the merrymaking, which included games, crafts, face painting, and photos with Santa. The Recreation Advisory Board provided a hillside of snow for sledding, snow angels, and snowballs.

Guests also brought new, unwrapped gifts for children staying at the Polinsky Children’s Center, which offers emergency shelter to children separated from their families. The center admits more than 300 children 18 years or younger every month. From toys and books to games and sports equipment, community members donated more than $6,500 of holiday gifts for these children in need.
